Nina Freitas, PT, DPT, OCS

Meet Nina Freitas, PT, PT, DPT, OCS, OCS, a dedicated and compassionate physical therapist who provides individualized, evidence-based care to help patients restore movement, build strength, and return to the activities they love. She is committed to optimizing mobility, performance, and overall function through personalized treatment programs tailored to each patient’s goals and lifestyle.

Dr. Freitas earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. She brings extensive experience in orthopaedic and sports rehabilitation, with a particular interest in running mechanics, injury prevention, and performance optimization.

Based at the UCSF Mission Bay campus in San Francisco, Dr. Freitas works closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care for active individuals and athletes of all levels. Her approach integrates manual therapy, movement analysis, and functional retraining to promote long-term recovery and enhance athletic performance.

Dr. Freitas also works in the UCSF RunSafe Clinics, assists in the Cal Athletics training room at the University of California, Berkeley, and is the team physical therapist for the Oakland Roots men’s professional soccer team. In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer, traveling, and skiing. To date, she has completed 3 of the World Marathon Majors and aims to complete all 7 marathons.
