Comments: I cannot overstate how great our experience was with Dr. Laroque. Both my partner and I tore our ACLs just months apart from each other (yes worst luck in the entire world.) He originally found her while looking for UCSF surgeons who use the quad graft; I accompanied him to appointments with her and found her really trustworthy. She is very patient with explaining the surgery; walking through concerns and questions. She is also extremely empathetic and has great bedside manner! One thing I also really appreciated is (at the time of my initial consultation) she had appointments reserved for female athletes, so that sped things up for me.

Surgery-wise, she did a great job with both of us - our incisions healed relatively quickly and both of us have not had much issue with irregular scarring (I know a lot of this is based on the individual, but she did a clean job as well.) She walked through all of the imaging and even took a picture of the quad tendon like I asked her to (purely out of curiosity lol.) In general the staff at UCSF was also very empathetic and professional. I have recommended Dr. Laroque to pretty much every friend who has torn their ACL, which unfortunately has been a lot of people.
